8/9/25
Game 1:
To start the series, the Mets continued their woes in Milwaukee and lost the series opener by 1 run.
The Mets had a good start to the game, scoring both runs in the 1st and 2nd innings. Juan Soto had a solo homerun in the 1st, and Starling Marte had a solo homerun in the 2nd, but those would be all the runs the Mets would score.
In the 5th, the Brewers would tie and take the lead with a Turang 2-run homerun, and a bases-loaded hit by pitch made the score 3-2.
The Mets' hitting struggled, and starting pitcher Kodai Senga could not go 6 innings again, and they lost 3-2.
Game 2:
Another day. Another loss.
The Mets once again got started early with a Pete Alonso solo home run to give the Mets the lead. The home run was also Alonso’s 252nd career homeurn which ties Darryl Strawberry’s Mets home run record.
The Brewers took the lead in the 2nd after a Lindor error to make the score 2-1.
In the 3rd and 4th innings, the Mets took the lead back with a Marte solo shot, and a Cedric Mullins RBI single made the score 3-2.
The back and forth continued in the 4th and 5th innings, in the 4th Turang evened things at 3 with a solo home run, and in the 5th Soto gave the Mets the lead back with a solo shot of his own.
But in the 7th is when things took a turn. The Brewers scored 3 runs and took a 7-4 lead. Freelik and Collins had RBIs, and Contreras had a 2-run homerun, which scored the 4 runs.
That would be it, another day where the starting pitcher couldn’t go 6 innings as well, the Mets would lose their 6th straight.
Game 3:
The Mets got a hot start once again, they were up 5-0 in the 4th inning with home runs from Cedric Mullins and Brett Baty, and RBI singles from Soto, Mauricio, and McNeil.
In the bottom of the 4th, the Brewers would cut the lead to 2 runs with an Ortiz RBI single and a Contreras 2-run homerun, and Sean Manaea was pulled after only 4 innings pitched.
In the 5th, Alonso doubled to bring in a run, and the Brewers cut the lead to 1 run with a Contreras home run.
Brewers tied the game in the 8th with a Ortiz RBI single after Ryan Helsley came into the game.
And in the 9th, the Brewers would complete the comeback with a walk off home run.
Mets are back home vs Atlanta on Tuesday.
