8/3/25
Game 1:
Coming off a sweep in San Diego and the trade deadline the day before, a new month was here, and the Mets were looking for a win.
Things were quite the first 6 innings, other than a 2-run 2nd inning from the Giants, where Schmitt and Lee both had RBIs.
In the 7th, the Giants would add another run before the Mets would add 1 of their own with an Alonso solo shot, and the score would be 3-1.
After a Soto RBI single and an Alonso sacrifice fly, the Mets would tie the game in the 8th, and after a scoreless 9th inning, the game would go into extra innings.
In the top of the 10th, Dom Smith hit an RBI single to give the Giants the lead, and after a scoreless bottom of the 10th, the Mets would lose and drop their 4th straight game.
Game 2:
After a tough loss the night before, the Mets were looking to bounce back with a win, along with snapping their losing streak.
After a shutout inning from Senga in the first, Pete Alonso hit his 250th career home run to put the Mets up 3-0 in the bottom of the first.
In the next 3 innings, the Giants would take the lead with a Grant McCray sacrifice RBI in the 2nd, a Dom Smith 2-run home run in the 3rd, and a Grant McCray RBI single in the 4th. Following the 4 runs being given up, Kodai Senga was pulled after 71 pitches, giving up 5 hits, 4 runs, and 3 walks along with 4 strikeouts.
Down 4-3, the Mets responded in the bottom of the 4th with Brandon Nimmo's RBI single to bring home Cedric Mullins after his first stolen base and hit as a Met, and to take the lead, Lindor reached on a bunt to bring home Brett Baty.
From then on, the bats exploded with RBI singles from Nimmo and Lindor, and Nimmo again made the score 8-4. A Lindor 2-run RBI double, and Nimmo scored on a wild pitch, gave the Mets an 11-4 lead.
In the 9th, Mets would add another run in the 8th with a McNeil sac fly to bring in Alonso, and Adames hit a 2-run HR.
The Mets would eventually win the game 12-6 and improve their record to 63-48.
Game 3:
Coming off a dominant win, the Mets looked to take the series in the final game, but they got embarrassed. The offense was asleep, and Frankie Montas was shelled on the mound.
Things looked promising in the first inning with a Lindor solo home run and a shutout inning from Frankie Montas, but things went downhill quickly.
Over the next 3 innings, the Mets would lose the lead and fall into a 7-1 hole thanks to Frankie Montas' disastrous outing. Across the 3 innings, Montas gave up 7 hits, 7 runs, and a walk and was pulled after giving up a walk to start the 5th inning.
The Mets were able to get a run in the 5th after an Alvarez double that brought home McNeil and cut the lead to 7-2.
Both teams would go scoreless to close out the game, other than a 5-runs for Gaints and 2 runs for Mets in the 9th, and the Mets would lose 12-4 and drop a second straight series.
